Milwaukee’s Iron Cupcake Queen, Sandy Ploy was picked to go to New York City for Kelly Ripa’s “Cake off for a Cause” to help raise money for ovarian cancer research.

I forgot to mention that I met someone FAMOUS last night. I’m sure you have seen Michelle and her husband on the Food Network many times. She was one of the celebrity judges last night. SUPER COOL! She has three bakeries in Chicago and implied through funny facial expression that she wouldn’t be surprised if Milwaukee soon had a Cupcake Bakery.

My friend Sandy is the founder of Iron Cupcake Milwaukee, which is a cupcake baking competition held each month with a new theme. This months theme is BEER! Yes, Beer and Cupcakes! I have taken my Mom and Grandma to the events before and it is a blast for people of all ages. You buy a ticket ($2.00 of every ticket goes to charity) and get to taste up to 18 different unique cupcakes from the bakers in the competition. Every baker has to incorporate beer in some way into their presentation. IT’S FUN and I hope to see you there on Monday!
