In case you missed it, check out this fun photos from the “Celebrity Cream Puff eating contest” that happened this week at the Wisconsin State Fair.

Needless to say, I didn’t win. But it’s always a good time nonetheless.

Check out this GREAT video from Kyle Olson’s Summer Entertainment Camp 2010 which is dedicated to giving middle and high school students real-life experience in the entertainment industry. The goal is for all of the students to gain experience and exposure on screen and behind the scenes. This music video was filmed during July of 2010 in South Milwaukee, WI. It’s a parody of Katy Perry’s “California Girls”. For more info on the Summer Entertainment Camp, visit www.MilwEntCamp.com!

-Make sure you listen to the second verse and see what radio station is mentioned in the song!!!

What’s the new thing at this summer’s WI State Fair? Cousins deep-fried cheese steak on a stick and it is good!

We were able to get a sneek peak on the fairgrounds and “yummy” doesn’t even begin to describe this tasty treat!

Kidd and Elizabeth were one of the first in Milwaukee to try this years newest item at the Wisconsin State Fair.   What is your favorite deep-fried food?

I just spent the last week on a great vacation in Aruba!   If you’re looking for somewhere to go and do NOTHING for 7 days and just RELAX, this is the place for you.  It is a very small island in the Caribbean about 17 miles off the coast of South America.   Airtran flies there every Saturday which makes it an easy destination to get to from Milwaukee.  I have never felt so rested after a vacation.   I wanted to share some of my pictures from the trip including the beautiful sunsets, white sand beaches, and calming ocean.

Gilda’s Club of Southeastern Wisconsin is having their popular family event “Woof n Hoof” this Saturday, August 7th from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

A very good friend of mine as been involved with this for the past couple of years and raves about how fun it is for your whole family and your dog!

The course gives walkers the option of a 1 or 2.5 mile that starts at Atwater Elementary School on Capital Drive in Shorewood.

And unfortunately Gilda’s Clubhouse in Shorewood did suffer some damage from the Brew City Flood; therefore, some funds, in part, will help restore their lower level.

I hope to see you there!

*Gilda’s Club of Southeastern Wisconsin’s mission is to provide a welcoming support community for those affected by cancer.

My first 5k run!!! Last night I ran the “Storm the Bastille” at Bastille Days in Cathedral Square.   I talked to organizers today that estimate between 7,000-10,000 who took part in the run.  It truly was one of the coolest things I have ever seen as we ran through the empty downtown streets of Milwaukee last night.

With the help of our listeners we compiled a list of the top five things to do and NOT to do on a family road trip:

  1. Do bring your patience
  2. Do bring snacks
  3. Do make sure your kids have lots to do
  4. Don’t be a backseat driver
  5. Do splurge and buy a GPS

If you have any suggestions of what your rules are on your family road trips – feel free to leave a comment here. Happy driving!

Hard to beleive it’s been one year since the passing of Michael Jackson.

Do you remember where you were when you heard the news?

I was covering Opening Ceremoines at Summerfest listening to officals at the podium when my phone started buzzing. It was a text message about the death of Michael.

Though I never had the chance to interview Michael, I did interview those who worked closely with him.

Like…

Orianthi - She was slated to be the guitarist for Michael Jackson on the, “This Is It” Tour.

Ken Ehrlich - He was the Executive Producer of the 52nd Grammy Awards and had talked to Michael about perfroming on the show. Instead a 3D Tribute was produced for the telecast.

Like I said I was covering Opening Ceremonies at Summerfest when I heard the news. Who better to get reaction from than the artists themselves. Gavin DeGraw, Pat Monahan from Train and others shared their thought about the late Michael Jackson.

Share your thoughts in the comments and tell us what Michael Jackson songs you’d like to hear on Friday, June 25th, 2010.
