June 24th is going to be a BIIIIIIIIIIG day at Summerfest!

We know Lady Antebellum will open for Tim McGraw at the Marcus Amphitheater — and now — we have two big MIX artists on the side stages too!

First, SHERYL CROW is coming back to the road!  The grammy winner is definitely the inspiration for a lot of today’s singer-songwriters.  She’s been taking some time off from touring to be a mom, but it’s exciting to hear that she’ll be back on the road and having some fun with us at Summerfest.

Plus, COLBIE CAILLAT, who we got to get to know up close and personal at our Mix After 5 Live last fall, will be on one of the night’s side stages.  I’m excited to see what she’s been up to, as she told our own Elizabeth Kay that she was going to be working on writing some new music…take a look below!

Sorry Danny Gokey…I’m going to have to DVR your stuff on Idol tonight…

All of us “Office” fans have been waiting six years for Jim and Pam to be together, and tonight, their baby is born!

Here’s a sneak preview:

We have PICTURES from John Mayer at the Bradley Center up last night, and here are some of the reviews we’ve gotten this morning from the John Mayer concert at the Bradley Center…

“The concert was AWESOME!! I was very impressed. John Mayer put on a great show. He has a very funny sense of humor. And I agree with Elizabeth, he is charming !! Even from section 226.”  – Mix Listener Anna

“All in all, I think it was a great concert. Michael Franti was very entertaining.  He really got into the crowd (literally).  The last song he played (Say Hey), he brought the kids up on stage. That was cute.  But very good and entertaining.

“John Mayer – you can’t deny him of his awesome voice and unbelievable guitar playing skills but man is he ugly when he sings.  His mouth moves in the weirdest ways…but I guess whatever make the sounds come out right.  I especially enjoyed when it was just John Mayer and his acoustic guitar….very good!  I feel like maybe the band was a little too loud and it took away from his voice….But really a good show!”  – Mix listener Lisa

In case you weren’t able to see John Mayer Monday night at the Bradley Center, we sent Mix Photographer Extraordinaire John McDonough into the photo pit to get us a really, REALLY close-up view!  Take a look!

Plus, we’ll be sharing your reviews of the concert later this morning too!  If  you were there and would like to share your take on the concert, e-mail me!

“How I Met Your Mother,” Mondays at 7 on CBS, has been one of my FAVORITE shows since it debuted five years ago, and regardless of tonight’s storyline, I’m gonna give this a “LIKE” on Facebook…the oh-so gorgeous CARRIE UNDERWOOD guest stars as Ted’s girlfriend.

If you’ve followed the show at all, you know that Ted is the one telling his kids–in the year 2030–the story of how he met their mother in the present time.  A lot of die-hards (like myself) think it’s about time the writers revealed the mother…so their COULD be a chance Carrie would be back for more than one appearance.  Keyword: COULD.  (So far, CBS only has her for one episode.)

Here’s a sneak peek of Carrie on tonight’s show click here! (And don’t worry, anarchy will not ensue for pressing play.)

…Elliott Yamin?

Yes, Elliott Yamin, the guy who finished 3rd in “American Idol,” the same season as Taylor Hicks.  He was performing a concert 90 miles outside Santiago, Chile, where the earthquake hit this morning.

Elliott does his best here to detail a little of what’s going on to the crew on CNN:

For all of us digging Lady Antebellum’s new song “Need You Now,” I thought you’d appreciate a peek behind the curtain of the making of their next music video for the song “American Honey.”

(They’re releasing these webisodes every Wednesday on their website — pretty fun stuff!)

If you gave up something for lent like me, you may be having some second thoughts about it.  That’s OKAY.  It’s NORMAL!  I know I’m definitely feeling it with mine…giving up sugar.

I mentioned my quest to be sugar-free ’til Easter to a friend of mine who had done the whole low-carb craze, and he suggested I try making this homemade chicken tortilla soup (no tortillas!).  So, I whipped it together the other night, and it ROCKS!

And move over Rachael Ray, this is LESS than a 30 minute meal!

INGREDIENTS

1 Onion, chopped
2 cans of chopped tomatoes
1 can of northern beans
1 can of black beans
1 packet of taco seasoning (try the reduced-sodium to be healthy)
1 rotiserrie chicken (like you see in the deli section)
1 can of corn, drained

picofsoupJust saute the onion in a large pot, take the meat off the chicken (you can use as much light or dark meat as you’d like), and combine everything in a pot.  Give it about 25 minutes and you’ll have one of the BEST-TASTING, HEALTHIEST homemade soups you’ve ever tried.  And just looking at it right now is making me VERY hungry!

If you’re going sugar-free too, I’d love to hear from you and share some ideas!  Drop me a line!
