Madonna DOES have a sense of humor!
Is it just me, or does it seem like Madonna has lost her sense of humor over the past decade or so?  Between Kaballah, overly-strict rules for her kids (like no TV), and some weird dating practices, she seems to have done a 180 from her previous party girl self.Lucky for you, Madonna fans, she DOES [...]

Dear Mr Oscar-

If this letter means I can never win an Academy Award for “Best Morning Radio DJ in a Short Film Documentary with Animation” then fine.   But, I am writing to let you know you have lost ANOTHER viewer.   I can assure you that no one will ever care about “Best Sound Mixing” or “Best Mack-up Artist.”   So, why do you keep wasting our time?  I wish you could just show the big awards and get it done in about one hour.   The next time you decide to give an award for “Best Music Score in a Foreign Film made by an American Director featuring Sarah Jessica Parker’s Dog,” just know I will not be watching.

Thanks,

Upset Movie Fan

When did the price of Shamrock Shakes exceed $2.00? It has been a long time since I have celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with Mc Donalds, but when the young lady said “$3.15 please pull forward” I said to myself “She must have misunderstood me.” When I got to the second window, I quickly realized there was no mistake. I was presented with a piece of fast food art that included whip cream and a cherry on top of a green and white swirled shamrock shake. What happened to my cheap, artificial flavored, cardboard cup shamrock shake?  Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

As I told you earlier, I am taking part in the Ariat “Jumping with the Stars” at the Midwest Horse Fair on April 18th in Madison. The video above is from my FIRST lesson. I still have a lot of learning to do in a short amount of time, I need to learn how to JUMP! I’m kind of scared about that. Check out more about the event here and any advice from the pros out there would be greatly appreciated.

tv

I just spent the past five days being sick and stuck on my couch, and here are some things I learned:

1) After watching a “Keeping up with the Kardashian’s” marathon, I realized I have more in common with Kim, Kourtney and Khloe than I had thought. They’re crazy and obsessed with how they look, just like me. Kidd Kardashian?

2) The lady on QVC between 7p-10p wears way too much self tanner.

3) The Food Network never shows the mess you have to clean up after making your “10 Minute Meals.” Add an additional 20 minutes.

4) My24 should be called “The Two and Half Men Network” featuring “That 70’s Show.”

5) I finally found something more dramatic than me, figure skating.

It’s amazing the things you learn while stuck on the couch for five days with a box of Kleenex, hot tea, and a remote control.

Ann-Sofie-FALL-RTW-2010-RUNWAY-001_runway

I love seeing runway pictures from fashion shows because I am always shocked that these people have jobs. WHO would EVER wear something like this? If being a “fashion designer” means grabbing a white sheet and cutting holes in it, sign me up.

I have been sick with some massive head cold for the past 3 days and I am trying everything in the book to beat this thing. This morning I brought a new box of Kleenex (going through about a half a box a day), Emergen-C (I have about 4 a day), some tea and nasal meds, and finally chocolate cup cakes!   I think the cup cakes are going to be the life saver here.

I have sources telling me that Kathy Griffin will open this years Pridefest on June 11th on the Summerfest grounds.   This is her second time playing Milwaukee Pridefest.  When I talked to her backstage in 2007 she told me she had never played an outside venue that accommodated so many people.  She was super impressed with Milwaukee.  It sounds like official word with ticket information will come from Pridefest on Wednesday.    You can find out more here.

kidd horse 1

I have been asked to be in the  “Ariat’s Jumping with The Stars” Sunday April 18th at the Midwest Horse Fair.   I will be judged along with other local Wisconsin celebrities on how well I can ride and jump.   Funny thing is, I haven’t been on a horse since I was 10 years old.   Yesterday I had my first lesson and today I am feeling the pain.  My inner thighs are KILLING.   I am excited to learn more about this sport (yes I am going to be taking part in a SPORT.)  You can learn more about this event here.

stop-smoking1

3 years ago I quit smoking after being addicted for 10 years.   I listened to a book on tape called “The Easy Way to Stop Smoking” by Allen Carr.   Like anything you HAVE to be ready to do it otherwise it will be a waste of time.  I tried to quit smoking a TON of times before it worked.   I will tell you nothing worked as well as this book.   I have 4 other friends that used it as well and it worked for them too.    GOOD LUCK!
