I would never really consider myself a fan of country music, but I do like a lot of the “crossover” stuff we play on The Mix, and this song from Sugarland seems like one of those songs that might end up being a hit in all music formats ! What do you think? Good luck getting it out of your head after the first listen.

Who buys these things at the fair? I have hard time believing the seller would keep coming back each year if someone wasn’t buying them. But where does something this pretty go? End table, center piece in the dining room?
I just spent the last week on a great vacation in Aruba! If you’re looking for somewhere to go and do NOTHING for 7 days and just RELAX, this is the place for you. It is a very small island in the Caribbean about 17 miles off the coast of South America. Airtran flies there every Saturday which makes it an easy destination to get to from Milwaukee. I have never felt so rested after a vacation. I wanted to share some of my pictures from the trip including the beautiful sunsets, white sand beaches, and calming ocean.
Last week I was covering the new sea lion pup Sequoia who is 3 months old and getting to know her way around her giant new home at the Milwaukee County Zo0. If you have seen the show before, it is worth going back to see the new pup when she is still young. Your heart will melt when you see her interact with the other sea lions as she learns to build confidence and trust. Thanks to Shelley and her great team at Oceans of Fun.

Tons of great new music right now on 99.1 The Mix and one of my favorites is from our good friends Maroon 5 with “Misery.” The video is kind of weird/fun. The song is much like every other Maroon 5 song with the classic Jamiroquai feel. I hope you enjoy it!
Another parade and FUN festival in Southeastern Wisconsin this weekend! Elizabeth and I will be in the South Shore Frolics parade today at 11a. Festivities last throughout the weekend with fireworks again tonight, find out all the details here. Hope to see you later today in Bay View!
My first 5k run!!! Last night I ran the “Storm the Bastille” at Bastille Days in Cathedral Square. I talked to organizers today that estimate between 7,000-10,000 who took part in the run. It truly was one of the coolest things I have ever seen as we ran through the empty downtown streets of Milwaukee last night.
Everyone fell in love with the anthem “Love Song” from Sara Bareilles a couple of years ago and I feel like this is going to be a big hit for her as well. It’s called “King of Anything” and I’m sure it will be stuck in your head after hearing it just once. It is one on of my new favorite summer songs.
