For anyone who drives on I-43 north of downtown on a regular basis, you’ve probably driven past the Capitol Drive exit and IMMEDIATELY changed your plans from whatever you were doing to get a scoop of mint chip, cherry amaretto cheesecake, or chocolate chip cookie dough. That is, until now.
The Kopps “Flavor Of The Day” billboard is gone.
And yes…it was a BLATANT advertisement…but it was a TASTY advertisment. As my parents live in Shorewood, I could easily take Capitol Drive, or take “the long way” home and exit on Hampton or Port Washington after a quick stop for cookies ‘n cream (my personal favorite).
The good news: Kopps is still around, and you can connect to the flavors of the day on the web. You can always grab them at Kopps website, and now, on Twitter as well. (And a hint: they post everyday at 8:30am, just in case you need a good excuse to take a drive for lunch.) So the landmark is down, but the calorie intake will continue.
And BTW, it’s Butter Pecan today. See you there.
