MILWAUKEE – February 8, 2010 – Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. officials are excited to announce the second show slated for Summerfest 2010.  Carrie Underwood will headline the Marcus Amphitheater on Sunday, July 4.

Carrie Underwood’s career is the stuff dreams are made of.  She blossomed as a national phenomenon before tens of millions of viewers by winning American Idol, captivated by both her vocal talent and personality.  Carrie has built a career that would be the treasured work of a lifetime for most artists. The breadth and depth of her work speaks for itself–songs like “Jesus, Take The Wheel,” “Before He Cheats,” “So Small,” “All-American Girl,” “Last Name,” “Just A Dream,” and “Cowboy Casanova” among others.

She has become the first country artist in history to achieve ten #1 singles from her first two albums. She is reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year.  She has been both ACM and CMA Female Vocalist of the Year for three consecutive years. Her list of awards includes five CMA’s, eight ACMs, five Grammys and a host of others.  Her love for music is evident throughout her third album, Play On.  Co-writing seven of the CD’s thirteen songs, she emerges as a songwriter of real depth, opening a wider window into her creativity and allowing her fans their most intimate look at Carrie the artist and person.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, February 20th at 10 AM and will be available for $67.00 (Red), $57.00 (Yellow), $47.00 (bench) and $37.00 (lawn).  All prices include Summerfest admission.  Tickets can be purchased at the Marcus Amphitheater Box Office, Ticketmaster Ticket Centers, online at Ticketmaster.com and by phone at 1.800.745.3000 (live Ticketmaster Agent) or 1.800.448.7849 (“Ticketmaster Express” automated phone line).  Patrons may also utilize “ticketfast” at Ticketmaster.com to print bar coded concert tickets from home.  Convenience fees may be added to all purchases.

Summerfest 2010 will take place June 24 – July 4 from noon until midnight daily.  The World’s Largest Music Festival and Milwaukee’s cornerstone summer celebration attracts the music industry’s hottest stars, emerging talent and local favorites.  The Marcus Amphitheater and 10 additional stages, along with a diverse selection of food and beverage vendors, marketplaces and interactive exhibits, are set against the Lake Michigan and downtown backdrops, creating a festival experience like no other.  Patrons can also enjoy Miller Lite, the Official Beer of Summerfest.  For more details visit Summerfest.com
